Strategy is a plan of action to achieve a long term goal. And in relative to this , Operations is action plan of team which affects the strategy.

For any strategy to be successful, leader’s heart and soul should be immersed in the company. Leaders can lead only if they are actively involved It is very easy to form strategy but more difficult to get it executed. And strategy needs to be reviewed from time to time and it comes only with execution.

Why most of the strategies fail as they are not well executed.

Many leaders take execution as detail work and that is beneath their dignity. But with my experience , it is contrary as execution is the leader’s most important and crucial job.

Execution is also a form of strategy where you need discipline and systems. It has to be built in Company’s goals and the culture. The reason for gap between promises made and results delivered is poor execution so here your strategy thinking fails . A leader needs to be open as what he did in past cannot be the way for future . He needs to learn new ways of working together where strategy needs to be discussed with people working at ground level as they can explain the challenges in implementing the strategy. Leader needs to connect as being present is not enough unless he is involved. Strategy is hardware and operations play the role of software.

Though strategy is important but it is only execution which makes it complete
